法医学是研究人体死亡、损伤及个体识别等问题，并为司法实践提供科学证据的医学学科。河南科技大学法医学院始建于1984年，是教育部首批设立的10个国家法医学人才培养基地之一。现为河南省特色专业、河南省重点学科、河南省医学重点学科，国家司法鉴定人培训基地、2011司法文明协同创新签约培训基地。学院现有1个法医学本科专业，1个法医学硕士授权点，以及1个作为实训基地的司法鉴定中心，面向全国招收法医学专业本科生、硕士研究生。
学院以“产学研用”为特色，集法医学人才培养、应用技术研究和高端司法鉴定服务于一体。三十多年来累计培养学生2000余名，毕业生遍布全国各地的公检法司、鉴定、保险和医疗卫生等单位。学院现有在校生400余人，建筑面积8000余平米，设有河南省法医学研究与应用院士工作站、洛阳市司法鉴定技术重点实验室和1个河南司法厅直属的鉴定中心。学院名誉院长为国际著名的鉴识专家李昌钰博士，教职工以中青年博士为主体，近年来参编国家规划教材12部，承担国家自科基金等科研项目20余项，发表论文120余篇，获成果奖励等12项。学院现有以省内外地市级以上公安局和大型鉴定机构为主的实践基地22个。河南科技大学鉴定中心是河南省最大的综合性法医类司法鉴定机构，通过国家级资质认定和能力认可的领域和鉴定项目居中部地区之冠，面向全国提供各类法医鉴定服务，不仅可为人才培养提供丰富的案例资源，同时也是学生的校内实践、创新创业平台和继续教育基地。
The Forensic Medicine study on problems related to death, injury and personal identification of human, etc. and provides scientific evidence for forensic practices. The school of forensic medicine of Henan University of Science and Technology was founded in 1984. It is one of the 10 premier national training bases for forensic medicine professionals established by the Ministry of education. Now it is the characteristic specialty, key disciplines and key medical disciplines of Henan Province, the training bases for national judicial appraisers and the training bases of 2011 judicial civilization cooperative innovation center. At present, the school has 1 undergraduate specialty, 1 master's points, and 1 judicial expertise center for in campus practice, recruiting undergraduate and postgraduate students in forensic medicine from the entire nation.
With the characteristics of "production-education-research-use", the school integrates personnel training, application technology research and high-level judicial authentication service. In 30 years, more than 2000 students have graduated and served for the nation across the country's public security department, identification, insurance and medical health units. Now, the school has more than 400 students, and the building area more than 8000 square meters, including an Academician Workstation for forensic research and application, a Key Laboratory of Luoyang city and a judicial expertise center.
The honorary president of the school is Dr Li Changyu, the international famous forensic expert. The staffs in the school are mainly young doctors, which achieved a lot in recent years, such as editors of national textbooks, researchers of the National Natural Foundation projects, published in important organizes, etc. The school has 22 bases for practice, mainly provincial/municipal public security bureaus and large appraisal institutions. As the practice and innovation base in campus, the Judicial Expertise Center of Henan University of Science and Technology is the most comprehensive and famous judicial expertise institution in Henan Province. Of the center, the main filed and item in forensic medicine had acquired national accreditation and recognition, servicing regional and overseas work, providing rich resources for case teaching and practice training.

本专业培养具备医学基本理论知识、系统的法医学理论和基本技能，有创新精神、创业意识和创新创业实践能力，能够从事法医学教学、科研、鉴定及相关工作的专门人才。
This major aims at cultivating the junior medical examiners with: basic medical knowledge, systemic theories and basic skills in Forensic Medicine, innovative spirit, career consciousness, and the ability of practice. After graduation, they should be eligibly engaged in forensic practice under the tutorship of senior staffs.

本专业学生应掌握从事法医实践工作的医学、法学和法医学基础理论、基本知识和基本技能，为毕业后工作和教育打下坚实的基础。毕业生应获得以下的态度、知识和技能：
态 度 要 求

2. 意识到检案工作中细致案情调查的重要性，并积极收集多方面资料，调查取证，使检案工作客观公正。

4. 树立依法检案的观念、树立证据意识，学会用法律保护受害人和自身的权益.

知 识 要 求
1. 基本掌握生物科学、行为科学、人文科学和社会科学的有关知识和方法，并能够用于指导未来的学习和法医学实践。
2. 熟悉人体的正常结构、功能和心理状态。
3. 熟悉人类常见病、多发病的发病原因，了解环境、社会及心理因素对疾病的影响。
4. 基本掌握现场勘察、取证的原则和基本知识。
5. 掌握死亡原因、方式、死亡时间推断及损伤与疾病的关系等法医学基本知识。
6. 熟悉常见毒物的中毒机制、病理变化。
7. 熟悉法医物证鉴定的基本理论和方法。
8. 基本掌握活体损伤检验与法医学鉴定的基本原则和方法。
9. 熟悉常见毒物定性、定量分析的基本知识和方法。
10. 认识法医学检案中自我保护重要性。
技 能 要 求
1. 具有正确受理案件及规范书写法医学鉴定书的能力。
2. 具备系统尸体解剖、常规物证检验、活体损伤检验的基本能力。
3. 初步具备处理突发公共灾害事件的基本能力。
4. 初步具有法医现场勘察及运用辩证思维分析处理案件的能力。
5. 具备一定的社会工作能力、组织协调能力和人际交流能力。
6. 具有利用各种信息资源和技术进行自主学习与科学研究的能力。
7. 基本掌握一门外语，具有应用其进行基本交流的能力。
The students should master the basic theories, knowledge and techniques needed by forensic practice, including those of medicine, law and forensic medicine, and lay a firm foundation for continuing education after graduation. Graduates should obtain the following attitude, knowledge and techniques.
Attitude Requirements
1. Establish scientific world view, life and value, patriotism and collectivism spirit, and contribute to the development of forensic medicine.
2. Be aware of the importance of case investigation; collect information of every aspect actively, survey and gain evidence strictly to ensure the forensic practice work objectively and justly done.
3. Establish the notion of medical ethics. Establish scientific attitude of seeking truth from facts. Always consider the maintenance of legal system and society stability, and combat against crimes as one’s own professional responsibility.
4. Establish the notion of handling cases in accordance with the law and learn how to protect the victims, your own rights and interests by using the law.
5. Establish the innovative spirit, critical mind and keep the consciousness of making contribution to the new knowledge formation and new techniques discovery.
Knowledge Requirements
1. Master the relative knowledge and techniques about bioscience, behavior science, literal humaniores and social science, use them to guide the future study and forensic practice.
2. Master the normal structure, function and psychological condition of the human body during different phases of life.
3. Master various kinds of pathogenic factors of common diseases and frequently-occurring diseases (including mental diseases) during different stages; realize the influence of environmental, social and behavior-psychological factors on the formation and disease development.
4. Master the basic knowledge and principles of scene investigation and evidence taking.
5. Master the basic forensic knowledge for the confirmation of death cause, death manner, time after death and injury relation.
6. Master the basic knowledge about familiar intoxication mechanism and pathological alterations caused by toxicants.
7. Master the basic knowledge and methods of forensic evidence identification.
8. Master the basic principles and techniques for injury examination via forensic identification.
9. Master the basic knowledge and techniques of classification and quantitative analysis of common poisons.
10. Master the principles of self-protection in forensic practice.
Skill Requirements
1. Have the ability to handle common cases and write case report.
2. Be able to finish the autopsies, verify evidence and examine injuries of a living body.
3. Have the basic ability to deal with sudden public incidents.
4. Have the ability to investigate crime scenes, and analyze cases with dialectic thought.
5. Have the ability in social work, coordination and communication.
6. Be able to use of various information resources and technology for self-study and research.
